Window Rock High School invites you to compete in our 10th annual 2024 Veterans Memorial Invitational in Fort Defiance, Arizona on December 20 and 21, 2024. That's ten years! The first tournament had 14 teams. This past season, 37 came (makes one feel like Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams =O) Come wrestle some of the best teams in the Southwest. Last year's boys came from Bloomfield NM and on the girls side, it was the Farmington Girls (who topped AZ state champion Round Valley). Two 4x state champs from NM also competed from Miyamura NM (girls) and Cobre NM (boys). Other teams with state champs at the VMI were from Aztec NM, Ben Franklin, Red Mesa, and Monument Valley (AZ).
Its been a few years since Arizona teams have claimed the VMI team title. No valley team has ever done it either. Mountain Pointe came in 2nd on VMI #1 and Perry also 2nd at VMI #5.
