Last year around 170 points won state but 150 probably could have won it too (depending on how much and to whom all those extra points Showlow had to spare over the next best team might have been distributed) Near as I can tell Show Low returns about 100 points this year....I need to count Peoria's, Safford and some other teams returning point getters but I gotta think Show Low is the clear favorite to win it all again, especially after seeing how well some of their low point getters from last yesr and replacements who couldnt make line up last year performed at summer tourneys....if Show Low can stay healthy and just net increase 50 more points I dont see who can topple them.
Just food for thought....feel free to critique....and offer your top 3.
Mine is Show Low, Peoria, Safford...Yuma always right there too....

This realignment is for next year school year 2018/19 and I believe not at all for this season, right?

Also on updated D2 rankings they have Tarik sutkovik 220 now ranked 1 wrestling for Ironwood is that true?

One more thing can someone confirm if Matthew Stevenson from Thunderburd is now at Liberty? There is kid with same info listed on Liberty track wrestling roster.

If above 2 wrestlers really did transfer it sure does hurt Tbird as far as team placement in state

Yes the change are for the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons. There are no changes from last year.

Tarik is at Ironwood now.

I know there will be movement but this is based on some things I know and other things just what I have hear whispers of. I know people will move away from Jackson Allen, Adam Henderson and Dawon but I heard Rock is going 152s at least for now. Keime is not cutting this year and will be at 195, I am not sure what Mickelson will do but I could see him staying at 220 where he will still be odds on favorite to win state now that Tarik is gone. Howard at 160 makes sense if Allen stays at 172 otherwise expect to see that reversed. I don't know light weights at all so I can only even give an opinion on the below ranking.

Again this is just opinion of rankings and I do not profess to be some know it all or even someone that can make an educated guess batter than anyone else. Feel free to jump in where I am wrong.

JMHO,
My guess is that Miller from Mingus will move up to 145#, Svoboda from Mingus should be in the running @152#.
I don't see Rock from Chino and Andrews from Safford competing at the same weight. The Torres brothers from MDN show weighing 175# in their football roster, not sure Andrew could get down to 152#, Susel from Florence football roster has him
weighing 185#, so he might be a better fit @ 170#. Michelson's football roster shows him @ 215# so he would be a small 220#, but maybe too big for 195#.
Just my thoughts!

I agree with everything you say.... You are probably right, I am only putting something I heard as far as Rock. It wouldn't make sense for sure. Truth is none of what I think really matters as we will soon find out at least starting weights....
The Mountain View Tournament will be a good indicator for some of the kids as far as what they might be thinking. I would love to see a Rock vs Andrews match there if they are at same weight. Personally and this is no knock on what a great wrestler Rock is , I think Andrews would win.

I agree, that would be a great match. I believe they both have some greco background. Anxious for the season to get under way! Looking forward to some great wrestling! Anyone up to to doing rankings after weight certifications? ;)

Rock is sitting at 160 right now and looks great. In talking with Jackson Allen, he mentioned that he would be willing to make the cut to 160 for the Mountain View tournament to make for a great showdown at 160. If Dawon would bump up for it too, we would have 3 potential 4 timers wrestling each other. Sounds like a sequel to VisionQuest. I think it is great when wrestlers go out of their way to challenge themselves.

I agree... and I think very highly of Rock and the fact that he wants to wrestle these good wrestlers. I want to be clear that I am not related to Jackson Allen in anyway so dont take my words as gospel or anything. His parents might have totally different opinion than me and that's fine. So that being stated:
I am sure Jackson would drop down to wrestle Rock again ( Didn't they wrestle at Liberty this summer - if I remember right Allen won) BUT I hope he doesn't. As much as I would love to see them wrestle if they were at the same weight, in my opinion Jackson needs to do whats best for him and his weight (which in all probability will be 170 at the very least through the Holidays and into mid January or even the entire season) to win State again for Showlow and to keep their team chances up. In my opinion dropping down in a hurry in essence to wrestle one match isn't healthy. It would be like asking Rock to cut to wrestle Dawon at the same tournament.( Which I would not agree with either but would love to see) So yes, I know Jackson would love to cut for that one match ( or two if Dawon wrestled up) but I hope he doesn't.

Again, above is my opinion and guesses from the outside looking in... I am not related nor am I a coach so I obviously don't know the whole story or situation. So take my words at their worth ( $0)

The other upside to Dawon, Rock, and Jackson not all being in same class is that they ALL can do some serious damage to DII and DI wrestlers at the tournament. I for one am tired of hearing how D3 cant compete with D1 and 2.

I'm with you wm201617, although it would be some great wrestling to watch any of the 3 wrestle each other I don't think it makes sense, especially for Jackson. He would have to lose close to 10% of his current body weight to make 160#, with certifications coming any day, would that even be possible under the weight certification guide lines?

i think it would be best to showcase their abilities at their proper weights and benefit their teams as well as give credibility to DIII wrestling.
