ty AIA, looks like a bigger tourney too, with great competition.
Div 4 can do a 2 day but the others can't...please explain

Don't look for common sense from the AIA, or other govt. bureaucracies.
The only thing I think justifies it--is they eliminated 4 sectional tournaments in D4, which allows them the second day at state??
It's all bs--and if you try to get an answer that makes sense--you're barking up the wrong tree.

From what I heard, with the participation down in D4, they just got rid of the Sectionals and ran all 32-man brackets, although most of them are just over 16-man brackets.
I do miss the old way, when the state tournament was a 32-man bracket, well at least for the old 5A tournament. I mean it's nice having Sectionals and 16-man brackets aren't too bad, but to me there is was always something cool about winning it in a 32-man bracket. Mean most of the big tournaments are at least 32-man brackets double elimination; Peoria, Flowing Wells, Mile High, Winslow.
And a lot of the lighter weights for the girl's state were running 32 and not 16 as well.
Just think it would be nice to go back to his old way,
but I know that won't happen.
