Thorobred Wrestling Club was founded by Mike Douglas and Dave Douglas in 2004. Their goal was to build a strong foundation for youth wrestlers on and off the mat, and prepare them to compete on a national level and be prepared for high school. Mike and Dave started their youth careers with the Harvey Twisters in Chicago, Illinois. It was here where they learned work ethic, discipline, responsibility and life skills that catapulted them to be two of the best youth wrestlers in the country, both receiving scholarships to Arizona State University, where they received their degrees. Their goal is simple, to give other kids the same opportunity to succeed.
In 2012 Mike and Dave expanded their coaching staff/principals with the addition of Jack Cardinal and Eric Larkin. The goals were to open our own training facility, start a high school elite program, direct youth wrestling tournaments/camps and travel to as many national wrestling tournaments as possible to give our student athletes the exposure they need for success.
In September 2015 in Chandler, AZ we opened our own training facility. A 5,000 SqFt state or the art training facility is now home for Thorobred Wrestling Club. Thorobred Wrestling Club has produced multiple Youth State Champions/ Triple Crown Winners in Arizona, High School State Champions, Virginia Beach All-Americans, Fargo National Champ, and multiple Fargo All-Americans and World Team Members.
