Coaches,
We have a few openings in this years Mile High Challenge in Prescott Valley, for any teams looking to add an extra tournament. It is a very solid and well run tournament with the best awards in the state. There is a JV tournament that is included with your entry. I have attached the information needed to participate. MILE HIGH CHALLENGE
WRESTLING TOURNAMENT


Date: January 2-3, 2017

Where: Prescott Valley Event Center, 3201 N Main St, Prescott Valley
“Home of the AZ High School State Championships”

Weigh-Ins: Monday- 7:00am-8:00am (Prescott Valley Event Center)
Tuesday- 7:00am-8:00am +1 lb. (Prescott Valley Event Center)

Coaches Meeting: Monday, January 2nd at 9:30 in “Coaches Lounge” upstairs

Wrestling Sessions:
Monday 10:00am-8:00pm Wrestle thru quarter finals (5-6 mats)
Tuesday 9:00am-4:00pm All rounds up to finals (4-5 mats) 5:00pm-8:00pm Finals (3 mats)

ENTRY FEE: $425 per team, Payable to : Chino Valley Wrestling-Mile High Challenge

Coaches Meals: Attached to each coaches pass will be a coupon for a free meal from the concession stand for each day.

Awards: Awards given to the Top 4 teams and Top 6 Individuals at each weight class. Individual
champions will receive a belt buckle. 3 Outstanding Wrestler awards for any weight will be
given (one of which will be chosen by the referees). A trophy will be given to the top small
school (under 1000 students).

Format: Individually bracketed 32 man bracket, 3 match guarantee. For those wrestlers who go 2 and out (without a bye), there will be an opportunity to receive a 3rd match at the end of Day 1 wrestling.

Pre Tourney Seeding: Coaches will be asked to have individual roster submitted with current
varsity records before 5pm on Friday, December 30th, 2017. Top 8 wrestlers will be seeded by a
3 school committee based on 2016 state placing, current record, 2016 MHC placing, and quality
of wins. Pre-seedings will be sent back to coaches on Saturday for review and input and final
seedings will be determined by committee prior to coaches meeting on Monday.

JV Tournament:
There will be a JV tournament ran on Monday that will start approximately 1 hour after Varsity wrestling starts. Teams can bring up to 10 extra wrestlers to participate. Any team wishing to bring more than 10 will be charged $25 per wrestler. Weigh ins will be on the honor system and lineups will need to be submitted on Friday night. Make sure that JV wrestlers are listed separately from your varsity competitors. Wrestlers will be pooled into groups and will receive at least 3 matches. Varsity wrestlers who lose in the first 2 rounds, without a bye, will have a chance to wrestle in the JV tournament. There will also be a separate Junior High tournament taking place on Tuesday.

I know this Tournament brings in a lot of out of state competition and great in state teams. would it be possible to get the teams that have confirmed?
