Mountain View - Desert Ridge

We don't get much wrestling coverage these days so most probably aren't aware that Desert Ridge had a pretty sound dual meet victory over Mountain View Wednesday. Mountain View doesn't lose too many matches in state. They had an 85 match win streak snapped a few years ago, but I think all of the losses were to out of state teams at a tough midwest tourney. I'm not sure if they've been beat since, if so, it hasn't happened often.

Is Desert Ridge a dark horse to perhaps crack the top 5 this year?

I would not necessarily call them a dark horse. They finished with the 5th highest point total of D1 teams at the Peoria TOC. Seven points behind Mesa Mountain View. Chandler was the only D1 team with a real chance to be in the top five that was not there. So it is entirely possible that they make it into the top 5.
