Awesome job! Love it.

What do you think about Caleb Kordova? Haven’t heard anything on him.

Also, I’m not seeing Luke Isaak (1st) from Shadow Mt at 190

Will be fun to see where everyone wrestles at in the next few weeks as many have moved up:

Have seen a few people stay the same weight and some move up from freakshow, Under the lights, etc.

Looks like these 3 will be back at 106 again based off of wrestling at that weight recently

106
Brody Townsend
Che Jenkins
Daniel Guerrero

Saw Isaiah Miller at 126 and Sergio Pena go 144. Looking to see how things shake out. We will get a good idea when Sahuarita opens up against Safford on Tuesday.

165 and 175 look wide open.
Some people that went 2-2 (Blood round) to watch out for, not listed at those weights:

165

Kyler Brennan ALA QC could find the podium

175
I think Sal Sellis from Payson returns after going 2-2 (blood rounds). Could also find the podium at 175.

I think if Cordova is healthy, he will be threat at any weight. He was exciting to watch, I think he gets back to form. Probably up a couple weights. He was at 65 at freakshow.

Isaak was a senior last yr (I believe). Shadow Mtn. did not have grades listed at the state tournament. (Isaak is a SR now and listed)

6 will be tough. Townsend could 3peat but he also took a big loss to Jenkins at one of the MWP tournaments in the spring. I think these 3 could end up differently any day of the week.

Miller went down a weight, he was 26 in Iowa also, got 3rd there. Pena was there at 44, but they had Gallardo there too. I'm curious to see what they do there.

I have Brennan and Sellis listed on paper as the best returners at 65 and 75 respectively, just waiting to put names in until we see who has moved up to 65 and 75. Used champs and placers to start the list but since there weren't any I left it blank until I get a better idea who is where.

Some updates: Mohave 106 and 113 lbers both placed 1st at the Coyote Open last weekend and looked really strong. Prieto and Cooper French are both wrestling 165lbs. Cooper was dominate (pinned all opponents in the 1st period). His younger brother Bridger wrestled at 157lbs and placed.

Gathering info.... will update rankings this week. Lots going on.

Kai Miller is not on Mingus' roster.

Borbon not on Walden Grove roster. Porter hasn't wrestled at all yet.
Mendoza got pinned by D3 newcomers, Mica Mountain. 32 in that section is going to be really tough. Mendoza is returning champ, lost to Beans from Mica Mtn. Salpointe 32 (Higgins) will be in the mix, 4 losses so far and 3 to Miller from Sahuarita and 1 to Torres from Morenci who just placed in Reno. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone from this group cut down to get out of this dog fight.

Clark from Mohave at 20, but their 13 and 6 both win Coyote open. Mohave seems to be getting results and moving up!

Doolen up at 26 for ALA and I haven't seen their football guys yet, after their deep football run resulting in a state title. Should be in there soon enough. I see they are going to Utah over the break, nice to see teams going out of state to compete and challenge themselves. Not scared to seek out competition, take losses and come back stronger.

Coconino doesn't have Escalera on their roster. Cooper French looked BIG and dominant. Would like to see him and Cordova go at it at some point. Younger French seems to be doing well so far. Wilson also notching some quality wins. Merrill went up a couple weights and is adjusting well.

Safford beat Walden Grove at Mtn View duals. They have some weight where they will be tough to beat, 20, 26, 32, 38, 65, 90. Nice to see all of their kids back in action, I think they will still be adjusting their weights so we will see where they end up.

Sahuarita has had different line ups or kids missing from tournaments all together. Would have liked to see Guerrero and Mohave throw down at Skyline. A couple pretty good freshman that will probably competing for medals in February at 13 and 75. They went to Reno and had 2 placers, Gallardo and Prieto, others won matches. Team score didn't reflect well because they can only score 1 at each weight, had 2 kids at 26, 2 at 38, Gallardo and Pena at 44, 2 at 57. Props to them for getting out and challenging themselves in one of the toughest tournaments in the country.

Mica Mountain made some moves. Beans looked impressive at Mtn View, pinning Mendoza. They also had a champ at 75 in Ford, who looks pretty big for that weight. Shumway at 215 also won Mtn View Duals. Turning kids with legs at 215, some kids didn't know what hit them.

More to come! If I am missing anything big or upsets please let me know!

Thanks Jim. You’re the man. I noticed you didn’t have Luke Issak at 190. Do you know what happened to him. Also Gibson is no longer wrestling. I hope he comes back.

Put Luke Isaak in there, I had him in on my draft but didn't transfer him over. I took Gibson out.

hard work, pays off
Would love to see more dual match-ups like CV vs. Sunnyside, CV took some lumps but i think kids only get better with tough matches, win or lose

175 is gonna be tough. Thwaits pinned Ford, but Merrill didn’t get out of his pool at Mt. View and Ford won it (he won Marana the weekend prior).

Once again Great job!

Surprised Kai Miller is not there, maybe he may show up later on in the season like Brody Townsend did last year. Who knows.

Anyone know what happened to Bryce White (12) two time state placer from Snowflake?

Sahuarita has two tough freshmen as has been mentioned

165 is stacked with three state champs, wonder if anyone would move down. We have seen Prieto go 157 at Reno, might be a possibility for state but push Nemer up.

I believe Nick Hutchins ACP beat Michael Story Mesquite 6-2 and Elijah Lynn Moon Valley Fall over Michael Story

120 looks stacked with state placers.

Preston Oulette ranked at 126 but have only seen him wrestle at 132 unless he is cutting down

Great update and rankings, glad you are in D3

Bryce White just showed up on their roster, hasn't wrestled yet.

Wasn't sure who to rank at HVY from Mica, both guys have been in the line up but now Flores has bigger wins under his belt.

Might think about throwing Conner Hangartner from Mica Mountain into the mix at 150. Places 2nd at Marana, 3rd at My View, and 5th at Mile High
